Dr. Scott Carlson

Dr. Scott Carlson

DVM

After graduating from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Dr. Scott Carlson went on to complete the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. In 2009, Dr. Scott Carlson purchased Hickman Mills Animal Hospital. He has always loved caring for animals and the sciences, which is why it made perfect sense to combine both.

Dr. Carlson considers his family to be his happy place and there is nowhere he would rather be than with his wife and sons. In addition, Dr. Scott Carlson enjoys reading, hiking, playing golf, and hanging out with good friends. Their family is incomplete without their two cats named Pagosa and Ben. Even though they couldn’t be more different from one another, they are the best of friends. Over the years, Dr. Scott Carlson has owned numerous dogs, cats, and even a ball python named Gunther at one point.

Kevin

Kevin

Veterinary Assistant

Kevin started working at Hickman Mills Animal Hospital in 2022. He enjoys helping other people take care of their pets the way he takes care of his own. Kevin is very passionate about animal care which inspired him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

In his free time, he enjoys cooking, streaming TV shows, and spending time with his dog. Kevin has a 10-year-old black Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix called Ally whom he considers a daddy’s girl. Ally enjoys tagging along on long rides and taking a snooze while they’re watching TV.

Tanner

Tanner

Veterinary Assistant

Tanner has been a part of Hickman Mills Animal Hospital since 2018. He has chosen a career in veterinary medicine mainly because he enjoys being of service to animals. When he’s not busy working at the animal hospital, Tanner can be found either playing basketball or the cello.
